Supporting Excellence in Music: Thank you to Gold Sponsor Mr. Kevin Kazmierczak

Mr. Kazmierczak’s son went through the East music program, and is now a teacher at Fredonia as well as a performing musician in the Buffalo area. He says that East helped encourage his son's musical passion, and helped him to continue into a career of music. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Kazmierczak has watched East’s music program grow and flourish. Two of his children have passed through the East band or orchestra. He noted how his experience at the annual Winterfest concert showed him what Williamsville had to offer for his children. He says this program encouraged young musicians to grow and take control over their own musical paths, and that the Williamsville school managed to put on a concert like no other. This is what gave Mr. Kazmierczak the confidence to send his children to the Williamsville school district, as he saw the tradition of excellence that was set up by the faculty and community here. 

When asked why he supports the boosters, he notes, “It’s a top program in Western New York and it needs to always be supported, brought to the forefront and preserved.” He has seen East’s music program grow, and the effect Covid-19 has had on music programs throughout the district. He noted that Covid had a very damaging effect on music programs, as online school and no in person concerts discouraged a lot of children from actively practicing their instruments, and led to a sharp decline in musical participation. Fortunately, Williamsville's music programs have not only recovered from this period, but have continued to grow and thrive in the years since.

Mr. Kazmierczak has shown an amazing dedication to the Williamsville music program, from watching from the stands as his children performed on stage, to being the president of the boosters for around 2 years, to being a gold level corporate sponsor, Mr. Kazmierczak has been a part of it all.
