Hello! My name is Jill Rogers and I teach 4th and 5th grade math and science. This is my fourth year teaching at Williams Academy and I am so happy to be a part of this amazing team!
I am originally from Albany, Georgia where I was a teacher for 11 years. I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood ducation in 1995 from Georgia Southwestern State University. My family and I moved to North Carolina in 2008 to run the Candlestick Retreat Center in Minneapolis, NC. I did not teach for the first few years we were here, but was a substitute in the Avery County School district. In 2012, I began teaching Pre-K at Banner Elk Elementary School and had an amazing 10 years there. I decided I needed a change and came to Williams Academy!
I am married to my wonderful husband Chad, who is also a teacher. He teaches 8th grade math at Avery Middle School. We have been married for 31 years. We have three amazing children, Leedia, Lani and Griffin. Our oldest daughter Leedia is married and has two little girls named Poppie Lee and Maddie Grace! Leedia also teaches at Williams Academy and I love working with her! Our middle daughter, Lani is a P.A. in Urgent Cares in Greenville, SC. She is married and has a little boy named Cal. Griffin is married and works for Terminix in Greensboro, NC.
When I am not teaching or spending time with my family, I love to crochet or cook! I also love music and can play the piano.
