Mr. Leverett's History Class

Class overview

If you take any history course in high school, you will be in my class. These classes include:

What will you be learning in class?
My goal as a history teacher is to not only teach you about events in the past, but also to teach you how to think critically and individually about these events. Humans have been leaving recorded history for thousands of years, and as a human it is important to recognize where we have been, where we are, and where we are going. There are many topics to learn throughout history, and hopefully at least some of these are interesting to you. It is my goal to make sure that you not only learn about historical topics, but also can take the skills learned in class and apply them to your lives.

“Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”

-Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“It is the task of the enlightened not only to ascend to learning and to see the good but to be willing to descend again to those prisoners and to share their troubles and their honors, whether they are worth having or not. And this they must do, even with the prospect of death.”

-Plato, the Republic

 About me

My name is Mr. Leverett and I am the high school history teacher at Williams Academy. I am originally from New York and could not be happier to be here in the mountains. Other than history, I enjoy hiking, playing video games, playing sports, and spending time with my friends, family, and dogs.
