My name is Brenna Davis and this will be my fourth year at Willard Intermediate South and my third year as school counselor. I look forward to a great year ahead and am excited to continue to offer support and resources to our school community.

September is suicide prevention month

Suicide Prevention Lesson Presentation

During the month of September, we will focus on coping skills and suicide prevention. This lesson will focus on identifying positive coping skills when students are feeling upset, overwhelmed, or anxious and fulfill Missouri’s requirement to present a suicide prevention lesson to all students beginning in fifth grade.

We want to ensure that the information presented is both appropriate and informational. Therefore, all students will be educated on the following information:

If a classmate makes comments about wanting to hurt themselves or not wanting to live, they are to tell an adult immediately.
At that point, teachers and counselors will take further action and there is nothing else for them to have to worry about.

We want our students to stay informed but we also want to allow you as parents to have the tough conversations with them the way you want to. You may preview the presentation slides on our counseling website by clicking the button above this paragraph.

Leadership Academy

Leadership Academies will meet during various times throughout the school day.

Students may be referred by parents or staff members, but may also request to attend if there is availability.
