Hieroglyphics are use to write sentences.
The rosetta stone is famous because it contains hieroglyphics that specialists were able to decode and make sense of.
In 1822 Jean Francois Champollion discovered the rosetta stone and spend a long time trying to figure out what it meant.

To make a mummy you first had to wash the dead body.
Next you took the body's organs out and put them in four canopic jars.
Then the brain was pulled out through the nose.
- Piles of salt were packed around the body to dry it out.
Then they stuffed the body with rags and sweet smelling herbs.
Finally, the body was wrapped in linen and placed in the coffin.
