Aston Hall Shines at the Utilita Kids Cup 2025 Regional Finals!
Aston Hall proudly represented Rotherham United at the Utilita Kids Cup 2025 Regional Finals, putting in a tremendous performance. The team won one game, drew one, and lost three in the main competition. In the friendly matches, they secured another win and a loss on penalties.
The boys gave their absolute all, showing incredible determination and teamwork. As the tournament progressed, their passing, confidence in the ball, and overall gameplay improved. There was a high level of skill on display, with the defense and goalkeeper making top-quality tackles and saves throughout.
Their enthusiasm and resilience truly paid off and they represented Aston Hall and Rotherham United in a fantastic light.
A huge shoutout to all the supporters who made the four-hour round trip to cheer the team on! ⚽⭐
Updates
Loose Lips Don't Sink Ships!
Next term, we will be looking at how we can adapt and change to engage more parents with our loose lips events, and support the community with worries, struggles, and the ever-changing needs for mental health support for families. Mrs Wall and I will be planning some things a little differently - I hope you will join us in the summer term for a good old catch-up.
In the meantime, there is lots of advice available, over at the parent carers forum website.
With Me in Mind (WMIM)
Over this term the WMIM team has held a the Me in Mind team held a ‘corridor workshop’ to support World Mental Health Day. Playing games linked to the new film Inside Out 2 explores many more emotions that we are all challenged with daily. Helping the children to recognise that these emotions are normal and we all need strategies in our tool belt to help us when these emotions become overwhelming.
The WMIM team also supported another small group of children working in a Flowers 125 intervention to support strategies for anxiety and worries.
If you feel your child may need further support please don’t hesitate to contact their class teacher.
There are some other useful links to support children with their social emotional mental health further down this newsletter, in our Ways to Support section.
Eco Warriors
Our Eco Council were visited by James from Energy Sparks. James sat with eco council and showed them how to use the website, how to look at the schools energy data, how much energy we are using and what impact the new solar panels have had on our building. They also looked at certain tasks they could do to further help the environment.
James also brought an infa red detector and we had a look around school to see where heat is escaping and where we can make changes. We also looked at a mini solar panel and how it worked!
The children had a great time and it was informative ☺️.
A huge thank you to Energy Sparks for visiting us!

World Book Day 📚
World Book Day encourages more children and families to find fun and enjoyment in reading because reading for pleasure changes lives.
Fun it was!
Residential for Y5/6 in York
Y6 had a great last afternoon on their residential. They visited the National Railway Museum in York!
Red Nose Day
Friday, 21st March, was comic relief. On this day the children and staff had a non-uniform day to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Children wore red noses, comic relief-themed outfits, and comic relief-branded clothing. However, some didn't and just came in non-uniform they were comfortable in and supported with a donation to the charity.
Look out on our website for the pictures they are amazing!
