Design & Technology

Through our creative, challenging, relevant and forward thinking curriculum; we aim to develop young designers with the curiosity, collaberative skills and determination to achieve their full potential in an ever changing world.

The Design and Technology curriculum is designed to allows students to investigate materials, existing products and user needs to develop creative design solutions relevant to a range of design contexts. Students are taught how to be safe when working with a range of materials, tools and equipment to produce functional outcomes through Design and Make Activities. The design and Technology curriculum at Whytemead, includes Food Preparation and Nutrition, in which students learn how to safely prepare a range of mainly savory dishes. In doing so, students develop an understanding of the importance of a balanced diet.
