Bristow Library and Makerspace

Book Swap and Book Drive

WHO: All students & staff at Bristow Middle School

WHAT: Trade a good, used book for another AND/OR bring in books to donate.

WHEN: Bring in your QUALITY used books June 1-9 and choose books June 11-16.

WHERE: Bring your books to the Bristow Library.

WHY: You will have more great books to read without paying any money!

HOW: 1. Bring used books to the library June 1-9.

2. Make sure the books are in good condition. Books with

minor wear is acceptable. Books with major damage such as

torn or missing pages, writing or scribbling, water or food

damage will not be accepted as trade.

3. Every Bristow reader will be able to pick 1-2 books to for summer reading to keep & add to their personal libraries. Book ownership matters!

4. Earn “Book Bucks” to spend on additional books. Visit the Bristow Book Swap page for more information!

December 6th-16th--Open for sales! Students can visit before school (7:40-:7:55) and during advisory. Advisors and ELA teachers will sign up on the schedule to bring their group/class to the fair.

***Monday, Dec. 9th and 16th--Family events from 5-7pm prior to the concerts. ALL are welcome--including extended family members and the greater Bristow community. Please plan on visiting the fair--Book Crew members will have many fun activities planned!

Thank you for making the spring book fair a HUGE success!! Over $4,000 in sales and hundreds of books in the hands of readers!

Bring the Family--Evening Hours:

Monday, May 13th from 5:30-8:30 and Thursday, May 16th from 4:00-6:00.

The 3D Printing Club will be selling literacy related items they have created and we will be raffling off 5 blankets and selling pillows that were made in the Makerspace this winter!

We will also be doing a Book Drive to collect YOUR gently used books that you no longer want to keep AND books purchased from the fair that you would like to donate. All books collected will be donated to classroom teachers at the Betances school in Hartford! :)
