Ski / Snowboard With A Patroller (SWAP)

2023-2024 Season

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a patroller? What does it take to join this crew of volunteers that keep the public safe on these slopes? Want to see behind the curtains of what it takes to get over 100 acres, nearly 1000 feet of vertical safe and fun enough to ski on?

Considering joining? Opening (7am) and a partial closing (5pm) slots may be available on a limited basis.

Frequently Asked Questions:

I want to join the patrol, will this count as my evaluation?

No. We are only able to accept new patrollers via our advertised evaluation dates. This ensures maximum fairness for everyone involved.  More information can be found here: https://whitetail-skipatrol.com/join-the-patrol

Can I attend an opening or closing?

Can you show up at 7am or willing to stick around until 10:30pm? Then yes!  Make sure you request this upon sign up, show up dressed and ready to go. We are boots on, out the door at 7:10am and work as a team until we are all off the mountain, typically around 10:30pm. If you want to watch the team operate, we can make this happen. We will need to know your skiing / riding ability in advance.

Will I need a lift ticket?

YES! We will supply some additional benefits but you will need to have a lift ticket. For those interested in attending an opening -- if you don't have a season pass, we will need to have a discussion to arrange a lift ticket for you.

Do I need to already need to know how to ski or ride?

It depends. If you want to have a chat personally, or with a group (say, scouts or a school group), we can certainly make this work. But anything involving skiing or snowboarding on the property will be limited.
