This is an introductory course designed to prepare students to pursue healthcare related careers. Upon completion of this course, a proficient student will be able to identify careers in the healthcare field, compare and contrast the features of healthcare systems, explain the legal and ethical ramifications of the healthcare setting, and begin to perform foundational health care skills. This course will serve as a strong foundation for all of the Health Science programs of study.

This course takes the next step beyond Biology I and is designed to develop an understanding of the structures and functions of the human body.

In this course, a student will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the healthcare worker in a pharmacy setting and cover key topics in pharmacology. Upon completion of this course, proficient students who have also completed a Clinical Internship can apply to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board examination immediately after high school graduation.

This course is a work-based learning experience designed to provide students with real-world application of skills and knowledge they have gained in previous health science courses. Membership is by application only.
