It’s been quite a winding road that has led me to Mossy Creek. Philadelphia was my first home, and it was there that my love of this country and its rich history took root during my formative years. Other places I’ve called home are - Phoenix, Arizona, Rabun Gap, Georgia, and even Zagreb, Croatia!
It was no surprise that my educational path led me to major in Elementary Education in college. I was that kid who insisted on going to school even if I was sick because I love learning so much. It was not unusual for me to come home on the last day of school and immediately set up my “play school”, much to my five younger siblings’ dismay, as they had to be my students!
My first official teaching position was at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, where I taught 6th and 7th grade Math and World Geography for a couple years. From there, I spent seven years teaching 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades at Boulder Creek Elementary School in Phoenix. When we moved back to Georgia five years ago, I was fortunate to get a job at Cornelia Elementary where I taught third and fourth grades for a couple years. This year, will be my third year working at Mossy Creek Elementary School and I am happy to be working with the children of this community.
My husband, Daniel is also a teacher at White County High School. We have four wonderful kids and a sweet yellow lab, Ryleigh. Our kids are in various stages of their careers and I am very proud of their many accomplishments. In my spare time, I love to be outside hiking, traveling, or reading a book.
