White County Schools

Bio:

My name is Stephen Gerrells and I am blessed to be able to continue to serve the students and staff of White County Schools as the Online Learning Coordinator and Mountain Education Liaison. I have been in education since 2000.  Before coming to White County I worked in Forsyth and Dawson County Schools as a middle and high school teacher, and Graduation Coach.  I graduated from Lumpkin County High School and have degrees from North Georgia College, Piedmont College, and Lincoln Memorial University.  Prior to my career in education, I worked in the business / computer industry providing software and networking support to retail customers worldwide.

My wife Kristi is a former Principal at White County Middle School. We have five children: Kalie & Jacob Smith, Zachary & Taylor Gerrells, and Hannah Gerrells.  We also have five grandchildren: Ruthie & Malachi Smith and Henry, Walter, & Sadie Gerrells.

• Kalie graduated from Dawson County High School in 2008 and North Georgia College and State University in 2012.  She is married to Jacob Smith and owns her own company located in Cleveland - Rohi Clothing.  Jacob is a deputy with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office.  They have two children - Ruthie and Malachi.

• Zachary graduated from Dawson County High School in 2012 and the University of North Georgia in 2016 with a degree in accounting.  He is married to Taylor Gerrells and is a CPA. Taylor is a former teacher at WCMS and is currently a stay-at-home mother. They have three children - Henry, Walter, and Sadie

• Hannah attends Lanier Technical College and will graduate in December as a Registered Nurse.

Kristi and I enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, swimming, watching TV, and hiking.  Additionally, I like to fish, hunt, read, build things, and just work around our house. 

I also serve as Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2 in Lumpkin County. I am also the Moderator for the Chestatee Baptist Association and Co-President of Northeast Georgia Bible College.
