White County High School
This is my 5th year in White County! I am excited to begin another semester. I have four children: Kayden Pace (9), Brayden Smith (8), Jocilyn Pace (7), and Hudson Smith (6). All four children attend T. Gap Elementary School. I am married to Mike Smith! We were married in December of 2016!
I absolutely love spending weekends at home with my family (playing outside mostly), hiking and kayaking, and working my Mary Kay business! I am looking forward to a great semester as I embark upon the next phase in my journey of teaching!
I attended Kennesaw State University for my freshman year of college, and I transferred to The University of Georgia for the remaining three years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education at UGA in 2004. I am also Gifted Certified (in-field, English) earning this degree through Northeast Georgia RESA in 2005. Then, I earned my Master's Degree through Troy University in 2010. I re-enrolled at Kennesaw State University to obtain my Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology. I graduated in the Summer of 2015 from this fabulous program! I currently teach English 10 & English 12 at White County High School.
I have taught English/Language Arts since 2004; I absolutely enjoy coming to work! I taught 8th grade Language Arts at Commerce Middle School from 2004-2006. I taught 9th-12th Literature at Winder-Barrow High School from 2006-2013. I left Barrow County to move to White County. I now teach English 10 World Literature and English 12 Community and Career Composition at White County High School, and my students have the privilege of using the Google Chromebooks in my classroom! Teaching is such a joy; it's wonderful when you help someone else discover something new!
