Meet the Teacher

Hip Hip Hooray!! You are officially a 2nd grader!!! My name is Miss Sarah Spillers, and I am SO excited to be your teacher this year! We are going to have a wonderful year full of lots of learning and new adventures! I have been waiting and preparing for you this summer, and I cannot wait to meet you. We will spend many days getting to know each other, and I want to learn ALL about you, but first I wanted to give you a little bit of information about me so your new class and teacher doesn’t seem so scary.

I love running, reading, traveling, and going to movies and concerts with my friends. I coach the White County Middle School Cheerleaders with my best friend Coach Cochran. I come from a family of teachers. My older brother is an assistant principal at Rabun County High School, his wife is a social studies teacher at Rabun County Middle School, and my mom is a parapro at Mossy Creek Elementary School. My dad is a patient man to listen to all of our school stories!

I graduated from White County High School, and I attended North Georgia College & State University where I got my Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing. After working at Mt. Yonah’s Homework Center during college, spending a summer as an arts and crafts counselor at a summer camp in North Carolina, and teaching preschool for three and a half years after graduating, I knew that teaching is what I am meant to do. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education at Brenau University.

This will be my 7th year teaching at Mount Yonah. I am excited about what this school year has in store for us. If you have any concerns whatsoever please feel free to discuss them with me so that we can work together towards your success. This year is going to be a BLAST!!
