About Mrs. Burton

I am originally from White County and my husband, Jeremy, is from Habersham. We have been married and living in White County for 15 years now and we don’t plan on moving. We love White County! We have two amazing children! My son, Matthew, is 12 and our daughter, Sadie, is 9. We have a Lab Husky dog named Rusty, 5 cows, 10 chickens and 6 rabbits. We love gardening, being outdoors, and spending time as a family.

After graduating from WCHS, I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education at UNG. Then, I began my career at Rutland Academy GNETS in Athens, GA teaching Special Education. Two years later, I began teaching at Gainesville Middle School teaching Special Education. During that time, I completed my Master’s of Arts Degree at Piedmont College in Education. Four years later, I began teaching at WCMS Special Education for one year before moving to Tesnatee Gap Elementary. I taught at T-Gap for six years before moving back to the Middle School last year. My 15th year of teaching will be the best year yet! I’m so excited to work with my 6th graders this year!
