Dear Parents/Guardians/Students:

I'm excited about the new school year and being back in the building with each of you. We are BACK! I can't wait to meet all of the new freshmen and continue to work with my wonderful sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I will be assisting students with IEPs that have the CTI service in the CTAE classes.

I'm available for assistance most days after school but would prefer students to email me and make an appointment. At times, I may need to contact parents and set up after school tutoring as well. I love my job and I love working with students. The best way to reach me is via email because I'm not in my office/room for long periods of time during the day but I can always check my email. Typically, I will respond within 24 hours or as quickly as possible. I know your questions are important and I will do my best to answer you in a timely manner.

If for some reason we have to return to a school from home model, I will need to schedule Google Hangouts with students and I may need to share videos to help them understand concepts and task. I will also be available by phone at that time and email. I would contact you if we end up going to school from home again with the best way to communicate with me. Communication is very important whether we are at school or participating in school from home! Do not hesitate to reach out to me. There are no dumb questions.

As IEP meetings are held this school year, please note that most if not all of these meetings will be held virtually in order to reduce outside contact in our building. We are trying to do everything we can to make sure our students can be in the building during this unprecedented time. If you have any questions about services, accommodations, goals, or the IEP in general, please feel free to email me. My email is listed above and as well as my extension.

Part of my job entails what is called Transition Planning for some of our students with disabilities.

About Me

Hello and welcome to WCHS! My name is Michele Broadwell and I'm a native of White County. I was born here, attended school here, and now I work here. I'm married and have a little girl attending school in the system.

I have an undergraduate degree from University of North Georgia in Special Education and a master's in Interrelated Special Education. I received my six year/specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University in the area of Administration and Leadership.
