White County High School
The 2017-18 school year will be my seventh full year teaching, and my third full year at White County High School. I currently teach Advanced Placement Human Geography (APHuG), Advanced Placement World History (WHAP), and Dual Enrollment US History. In addition to teaching history, I am also the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at WCHS.
I was born in Miami, Florida and lived there for several years before my family move to Duluth, Georgia. I attended Northview High School, where I played basketball and soccer. After I graduated, I attended Piedmont College and played soccer for four years. I received my Bachelors of Arts in History and my Masters of Education in Secondary History from Piedmont College. After earning my Masters degree, I worked at Gainesville High School, teaching ESL and Social Studies. I also coached the JV boys soccer team and helped coach the Varsity boys soccer team. From Gainesville, I moved to Torreón, Mexico with my wife, Jennifer, to teach at a private school, Colegio Americano de Torreón (CAT). My wife and I got married in 2013 and we taught at CAT for two more years, totaling 3. In December of 2015, I graduated with my Specialist Degree from Columbus State University.
Outside of school, my wife and I have one son, Sawyer Charles, and two dogs, a miniature poodle, Rooney (Man Utd.) and a chocolate lab, Theo. I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing with our son, cooking, and of course watching and playing soccer.
