My Biography

I suppose you'd like to know what your teacher was like as a fourth grader. Well, sit back and relax as I tell you a little more about myself as an nine-year-old. I lived in Rock Hill, SC with my mom, dad, and my younger brother.

When I was in fourth grade my favorite hobby was art. If you handed me pipe cleaners, glue, paint, markers, and paper I would have been happy for hours! My favorite art toys were Fashion Plates and a Spirograph. It is hard for me to remember my favorite subject in school because they were all fun to me. I loved school!! Trapper Keepers were very popular when I was in elementary school. Each August I would look forward to picking out a new one. Even though I wasn't a superstar, I enjoyed playing basketball. I also liked riding my bike around the neighborhood. My brother and I liked to play Nintendo and board games. Our favorites board games were Life and Trivial Pursuit for Kids. During the summer I liked to swim, help in the garden, and go to day camps. My family and I also took a trip to the beach each summer. The New Kids on the Block were my favorite band. I enjoyed listening to their songs on my aqua green boom box while I played Super Mario Brothers! Life was good in fourth grade.

A few years have passed since I was a fourth grader, so let me fill you in on some of the highlights. In high school I bought my first car. It was a red Ford, and I named it Clifford. My favorite subject in high school was social studies. I graduated from high school and went to Clemson University for college. That was a very fun time in my life. I enjoyed going to football games, meeting lots of friends, and learning how to be a teacher. After I finished college I started working at an elementary school in Anderson, SC. I taught third grade there for six years. During that time I liked to run, and I even completed a half-marathon.

In 2008 I got married and moved to White County. In August of that year I was so happy to start working at Mount Yonah Elementary School. I taught third grade at Mt. Yonah for eight years. In 2016 I moved to fourth grade.

Now my husband and I have 2 sons. Outside of school I love spending time with my family and reading. Life is good as a fourth grade teacher!
