Mossy Creek Elementary
I am a product of the White County School System and graduated with honors in 1975. As I think about why education is so important, I remember my school years, the grounding years of my education. I go down memory lane, remembering my teachers, my school subjects, the study and the fun! Education is an important part of everyone's life. By the means of education, one's potential can be realized and utilized to the maximum extent. I am thrilled to be teaching in the same school system where I had the privilege of establishing a life-long love of learning!
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College in 2004, my Masters of Arts (M.Ed.) with a Reading Emphasis from Piedmont College in 2007, and my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College in 2009.
I graduated magna cum laude and was named to the Dean's List each semester as I pursued my masters and specialists degrees from PiedmontCollege.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

About the Teacher
I was born and raised in these beautiful North Georgia Mountains in the small unincorporated community of Robertstown. I have been married for 32 years to my wonderful husband Chuck. He and I are both life-long residents of White County and have 3 wonderful children and 4 fur babies. I enjoy teaching, pursuing and researching the field of education, reading, traveling, camping, fishing, and playing outdoors.
There is no job better than teaching. Each day is different, and children are a constant source of amazement. They are fun to work with, and watching them learn and grow is extremely rewarding. Every day is an adventure!
In addition to working with children, it is very rewarding to work with their parents as well. As partners in your child's education, we can collaborate to help your child succeed!
I am a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (GAE) and Delta Kappa Gamma. I was most honored and thrilled to receive the nomination forTeacher Of The Year award during the 2009-10 school year and served as Teacher Of The Year during the 2011-12 school year Mt Yonah Elementary.
