Governance

Mission

Our mission is to provide the ultimate learning environment that promotes the values and beliefs of Whakarewarewa School and its community.

'Waihoa ko oku whengu, mauria mai ko oku painga'

"Heed not my weaknesses, nurture my strengths"

Student achievement is the core business of Whakarewarewa School. The strategic pathway for learning development is of high priority to the Board, staff and whānau of this school and contributes to a culture of schoolwide improvement.

Learning programmes reflect the National Education goals, the cultural, spiritual practices and beliefs of Tuhourangi, Ngāti Wahiao, Ngāti Hinemihi, Te Hurunga Te Rangi and Apumoana - Te Arawa iwi.

The Board of Trustees are critical to all aspects of school operations. Effective governance ensures a schoolwide culture of improvement that is focused on the provision of high quality learning outcomes for students.

This group of hard working parents represents you and helps make governance decisions at our monthly hui. These meetings are open to whānau and public and you are welcome to attend.

The Board of Trustees meet at 6.00pm in Hatu Patu twice a term on the second Wednesday of each month. Please see the Event Calendar or call the school office (07 348 3865) to confirm meeting dates.

If you wish to raise any issues, concerns or acknowledgements, then please contact the principal to discuss your kaupapa.
