Mr. Maroney's

Team 317 Site

Welcome to Mr. Maroney’s Team 317 Class Website!

Hello! My name is Mr. Maroney. I believe each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking and invites a sharing of ideas.

Our School To Work - Life Skills Curriculum is designed to help students meet their IEP goals as well as meet the requirements of the NY State Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential and to help them transition to life after high school. The self-contained nature of the classroom and the fact that we will be together as a class for most of the day gives us a great deal of flexibility and the opportunity to work on individual goals and objectives for each student

Community Trips:

Part of the life and vocational skills curricula is taking community based “work” trips throughout the year. We currently go into the community on Wednesdays (Wanda's Weight Room) and Thursdays (Stop and Shop).

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason.

Thank you for your cooperation. Strengthening the home-school bond will help us all achieve our common goal: To educate the children to the best of our ability.

Best regards,

Mr. Maroney
