SHAC

School Health Advisory Councils (SHAC) have many important roles.  The SHAC works to support WFISD by carefully planning school health programming to ensure optimal health and wellness for students at all grade levels. Additionally, the SHAC reviews and makes recommendations regarding policies, strategies and curriculum options related to student health.  SHAC members are approved by the WFISD Board of Trustees and include a diverse group of stakeholders to include community representatives, parents, and district staff.

More information regarding the Student Health Advisory Council can be found at https://www.dshs.texas.gov/texas-school-health/texas-school-health-advisory-committee-tshac/school-health-advisory-councils

SHAC Meetings are not subject to the Open Meetings Act; although, they must comply with certain requirements, which may require a portion of a SHAC meeting to be open to the public. If a case arrises that qualifies under this requirement, notice will be posted. While they are not public meetings, a recording of the meeting will be posted to this page not later than the 10th day following the meeting. Once posted, you can click the link on the date of the past meetings below to view the recording.
