Ever since West Perry changed the teaching resource to  Schoology, students have debated whether it was more beneficial or if the school should start using Google Classroom again. Students and teachers agree that there are positives and negatives to using schoology. One of the positives that went into schoology being chosen was the fact that grades can sync from schoology to powerschool. This however does not always work the best and grades sometimes need to be put in separately. Schoology also helps to be able to communicate with teachers other than just through email. It also has a clear upcoming assignment list and overdue list when a student clicks into the tab. 

One reason students think that Google Classroom should come back is because it was what students were used to. CPACTC uses Google Classroom, so tech students were even more used to using it. Schoology was hard for students to understand at the beginning. The system has a different way of submitting assignments which made it more difficult for students to learn how to turn their work in. Although now, many students are used to using it, people can still hear students say they would rather have Google Classroom on days that schoology does not work. Other learning resources can also have down times where they won’t work just as schoology does. 

When asked about why Schoology was chosen, Dr. Grippin stated “Schoology has good features, it is a one stop shop where everything can be done from it, it is easy to use, and it keeps everything organized”.

When asked about schoology and google classroom, Kennah Hostetter stated,”Google Classroom is preferred because I am more used to it because of using it longer”.
