Homecoming was held on Saturday, September 30th with a theme of “Howdy HOCO.” It was planned by the people in the student council. It was truly a night to remember. The homecoming court consisted of Emily Sheriff, Louren Foster, Carla Campbell, Taylor wolf, Isa Bentz, the boys consisted of Reese Fedder, David LaChance, Kaleb Cordell, Tristan Baker, and Juniper Buckles. The king and queen were Reese Fedder and Isa Bentz.
The dance was filled with dancing, laughter, and lots of fun - whether you were there for the food, the good time, or the country music. With a theme of a howdy HOCO, they had to play Morgan Wallen many times; Sara Shumaker made sure of this by including his songs on the playlists.
Speaking of Sara Shumaker, she was a big part of planning the homecoming dance. With only about a month to plan the dance, it was a lot of hours to get there. Shumaker and the rest of the student council had a lot of work to do including getting decorations, setting them up, and planning for a DJ to be able to come. Shumaker had very early mornings at the school dropping off food and decorations to prepare for the dance.
Mollee Nelson was also a huge help to planning for homecoming. Not only did she spend lots of time helping with planning, she also helped at the dance by checking people into the dance and making sure they had their tickets. The biggest thing to deal with HOCO is the ticket part. Student council originally made 300 tickets, but after selling all 300 for the first time ever, 120 more tickets were added, making this the one of the biggest homecomings ever.
