When the night settles in, the Mustangs come out.
On Wednesday, September 27th, West Perry High School hosted their traditional homecoming bonfire. Starting just last year, WPHS began hosting a bonfire in the week before homecoming. The bonfire was, of course, safe and secure, due to the fact that the Landisburg Fire Company was there by the fire the whole time. They made sure that no one was playing near the fire and made sure that the fire was contained and under control at all times throughout the bonfire.
Another thing that was at the bonfire was the amazing Kona Ice Truck. They definitely made good business at the event because of everyone that kept buying it. Abi Herd talked about her experience at the bonfire by saying her favorite thing about the bonfire was, “The Kona Ice Truck!” Herd also said, “I personally didn’t buy any. I kept obtaining snow cones from other people.” Thanks to Herd, we got a pretty good explanation on how good the Kona Ice was.
To add on the food side of the blazing tradition, our very own Spirit Club had a stand set up selling hot dogs, burgers, and tons of other goodies. Not to forget the whole event was planned out by WP’s very own Spirit Club and a lot of people who had attended the bonfire had claimed that they had a really good time.
The Spirit Club had also set up a stand beside the food, to do face painting, and better yet, it was free! Who doesn't like something that's free? Especially if it's to get your face painted. Overall, the bonfire created memories for the good and kept the tradition alive at West Perry.
