On Nov. 3 and 4, 2023, West Perry gave an outstanding performance of their play “A Haunting We Will Go” with over 200 tickets sold on opening night alone.
The main roles were filled by Clara Welshans as Norma Corwin, Erin Rice as Ginny, Levi Jones as Moe, Alexander Prutzman as Sutton, and Jack Brosius as Flint.
The cast was under pressure to properly bring these characters to life and bring them to life they did. Each and every member added their own little touch to the performance, making the characters resonate with the audience.
Norma Corwin, a very brave and adventurous film producer, goes back to the Inn Of The Three Sisters on its final night, to fulfill her childhood vow of spending one night alone. Once she went there however, it didn't go as she planned. Clara Welshans did not feel connected to her character claiming, “Norma was very strong willed, brave, and determined and I am none of those things.”
Ginny was the film producer's confident and determined assistant. She fought to not only help Norma when she stayed in the inn but also to make Norma consider the idea for a new television pilot. Erin Rice said, “I feel like she reflects how I feel, always working for someone and having to go way out of my way to prove myself. ”
Moe is a comedic manager for Norma who showed traits of being sarcastic and kind of fearful. In the end of the performance, more of Moe’s playful and sarcastic side can be seen while also experiencing his caring nature towards Norma and Ginny. Levi Jones claims he feels connected with Moe, stating “I feel like I made Moe a part of me so I’d say yes.”
Sutton is a grouchy old man that resides at the old inn looking for the buried treasure that the three sisters took while the inn was still running. His grumpy character makes him very lovable to the audience. Alexander Prutzman says, “I didn't really relate to the character, but I did enjoy the opportunity to play a crazy and crotchety old man.”
Flint is the Murderous ghost that takes out multiple characters during the performance. He is evil and persistent on having sister Mary tell him where to find the treasure. Jack Brosius states, “I feel like it would be bad to relate to the murderous ghost man, but I do fully relate to the post twist struggling actor who has to work a more useful job to make it by.”
