Endless Summer Vacation is the eighth studio album produced by Miley Cyrus, which was released on March 10, 2023. A sound that many people believed would be an album full of summer bops and anthems, but is that what Miley intended? Let's get into our endless summer vacation.

Track one, “Flowers”, is a self-love anthem about Miley forgetting about her past lovers, and focusing on loving herself. It says it in the chorus where she announces to the rest of the world, “I can buy myself flowers, Write my name in the sand, Talk to myself for hours, Say things you don’t understand”. This song spent nine consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, a significant accomplishment to say at least.
Track two, “Jaded”, is a song about the aftermath of a failed relationship, almost seeming like the complete opposite of the previous song, “Flowers”. Jaded talks about not Miley not feeling like she is good enough for her significant other, almost like she is the boring one in the relationship. But, with the background music and summer-like tones, “Jaded” sounds like another song to spread the summer feeling.
Track three, “Rose Colored Lenses”, starts off the beat with a subtle, yet nostalgic feeling, like staying in place forever. The lyrics literally state, “Wearing rose colored lenses, let’s just play pretend” and “Let’s stay like this forever”, which also helps get the meaning across. Wearing rose colored lenses means that you are in a state of optimism, seeing the good while dealing with the bad, which could connect to other songs like “Jaded” and “Flowers”.
Track six, “Handstand”, is a sound like no other on the album. This is the last song on the “AM” side of the album, which is split between the “AM” and “PM”, which could be used to describe a day in the endless summer vacation. An overwhelming heat that stays forever, which gives off an uneasy feeling. Miley introduces the song with a spoken intro until the chorus, talking about meeting a significant other on a boat while the sunlight and the rest of the world fades around them. The rest of the song is sung normally, talking about going into the dark of Miley’s life.
Track seven, “River”, is the second single off the album following “Flowers.” Another summer-vibe song, tied together with disco-funk beats. The one verse states how Miley is “Livin’ in an April shower”, which Miley incorporates rainfall into a feeling of new romance from the typical negativity and sadness rain normally gives off.
Overall, Miley’s interpretation of an endless summer vacation is not what the mass majority expected, but one that shows the downside of trying to live in an endless summer without change.
