The Positives of Flextime

Since West Perry High School had implemented Flextime Manager, there has been more open time for new activities and clubs to be done during resource. It also allows for more days to be allotted to the clubs instead of just one day every cycle. When it was just one day every cycle, sometimes clubs couldn’t meet every week, whereas some clubs need the extra time to be able to meet, like Student Council.
Students have shown that they like the new program because it allows them to pick what teacher they go to and what they want to do. If someone is in the mood to study then they can go to a quiet study. Some kids want to have fun and can join the other activities that teachers have started. Other students are very involved in clubs and like to have time to be able to do things with their clubs.
Teachers can also make groups for their students to study if they need to for a test or if they just need help with work. This is very helpful for many students because they need that extra time to be able to get assignments done and get help from their teachers on work they didn’t understand or may have questions on.
When asked about Flextime Manager considering the clubs and activities, Tommy Shotzberger stated,”Some of the stuff is fun, but I think there needs to be more energetic activities.
Reyna Thomas stated,”I like it and I think it is a good opportunity and it allows us to do more.”
