The Lunchtime Debacle

West Perry High School has introduced a new program called Flextime Manager, but it has caused some issues in the lunchroom. Students have said that Flextime Manager helped them in different ways. One of them includes giving the chance for Vo-Tech students to be included in clubs and giving them the time to have resource and work on their work. Yet the problem arose on the first day of tech that most people chose to eat lunch B. The lunch that the tech kids had been told to choose, so that they could have the time to be able to participate this year. Since so many students chose to eat lunch b, there is basically nowhere to sit in the cafeteria for tech students.
While they told the tech students to choose lunch B, they could have told other students to choose lunch A or C. If this had happened more people would have places to sit and the cafeteria wouldn’t be so crowded.
Asking a Vo-Tech student, Kennah Hofstetter about lunch and Flextime Manager, she answered, “I like Flextime Manager because it gives us more options.
Kennah then said, “I don’t really like lunch b because there is nowhere for the votech kids to sit and we get back right in the middle of it.”
Gabe Henry, another Vo-tech student then stated, “Flextime Manager kind of screwed tech students over, instead of not having to just go to a resource which is the exact same, now we have to schedule every day what we choose to do, although the activities are nice. Between us getting back at unknown times, knowing what day advisory is, and if there are any special activities it is a big hassle. Beyond that, the mobile app is broken and we can’t sign up for flex efficiently.”
Finally, Savannah Adman, another tech student, stated, “I think Flextime Manager is good because you can go with your friends and your favorite teachers. There are different activities you can join. Lunch B is treating me well but on advisory days it is hard to eat.”
This gives other tech students views on the matter, because of the new system affecting them most.
