Apple dumplings are made of nicely cooked pie crust, sliced and crushed apples, a single stick of butter, brown and white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, three cups of water and, to top it all off, vanilla.
The first ever apple dumpling was made in the 18th century in england, they ended up being an iconic American food. The dumplings became well known across other countries and places, earning a rightful place as a delicious dessert!
Apple dumplings are very soft and tasty treats that are easy to make and bake!! Milk is also used to soften the dough after the dumpling being cooked, it is a good method as the dough soaks up the milk and makes the perfect delicious apple dumplings!!!
Apple dumplings are cooked very different. They used to be cooked by being boiled and steamed but apple dumplings name comes from german dampf meaning steam!!
They are also not supposed to be cut, but made into the perfect size to fit into your mouth!!
Dumplings can be cooked 3 different ways. But there are over 25 different dumplings in the world!!! The pilgrims creating the first ever apple dumplings though.
