Parents, in light of recent events in Oxford, Michigan, the resource page posted here from the National Association of School Psychologists may be helpful for you.
We're an ok2say school!
OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at school students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.

Attendance counts!
-If your child is going to be late to school or absent, please call the attendance office before 9:00 a.m. If the school does not receive a call, we will attempt to contact the parent/guardian.
-If your child has an appointment he/she must leave school for, please call the attendance office as soon as possible in the day or your child may present the reception desk with a note from a parent at the beginning of the school day. A pass will be given to the student so he/she may leave. Any student leaving early, must wait in the reception area. Parents/Guardians must sign out the student at the receptionist desk.
-Students will not be excused for missing the bus, oversleeping, being driven to school late by a parent etc. Students arriving to school later than 10 minutes from the beginning of school will receive an unexcused absence. It is very important to be on time!
-If a student will be absent for 3 or more consecutive days, a trip slip must be completed and signed by the student’s teachers, and parent before departure. The completed form must be returned to the main office for a copy for our files. This form is available at the receptionist desk.
For your convenience, a 24-hour voice mail is available. If you are unable to call during business hours, feel free to leave a message.

Herrick Library E-Library card sign up now easier than ever!
Please read the attached letter regarding expanded access to Herrick materials while school is not in session.
Virtual Library Card Form: Herrick Library has a robust eLibrary, and they hope it becomes a useful resource for the community. They are planning to roll out a curbside service this week so patrons can receive their print materials (virtual library cards will be permitted to check out 5 print items at a time).
Wi-Fi Access: Starting immediately, in an effort to work with families and patrons without access to internet due to school closings, Herrick Library is switching their Wi-Fi access to 24/7. Patrons may access Wi-Fi near their two buildings (300 S. Rive Ave. & 155 Riley St.). Please note that wireless signal strength may vary and the system was originally designed to serve users within the building, so the strength of the signal in the parking lot will be dependent on the mobile device and device location. Individual mobile hotspots may be put on hold with a library card (there are none immediately available), and they can be checked out for one week at a time.
