West of New Bern Volunteer Fire Dept

West New Bern Fire Department is dedicated to providing fire suppression, fire prevention, and rescue services in the Trent Woods, Clarks and Beech Grove / Spring Garden areas of Craven County. 

We currently protect approximately 25 square miles with an estimated population of 8,000 residents, and respond to an average of 200 incidents per year in our fire district. We have 3 stations and a membership of approximately 50 members. We have fire apparatus which includes: pumpers, tanker/pumpers and a technical rescue truck that carries Hurst tools, and other essential equipment.

Our Fire department provides mutual aid to New Bern & Surrounding Fire Departments. We receive help from these departments, as well as the NC Forestry Service, EastCare air medical transport, NC Highway Patrol, Craven County Sheriff's Office, Trent Woods Police Department, and the New Bern Police Department.
