1. Select the option that describes your parents marital status as of today.
2. Depending on how you answer the question, you will need to answer different questions (see below).
In situations where a student's biological parents are not together, you will need to choose one parent to provide financial information. The parent you choose must be the parent who you lived with for the most time over the last 12 months. If you lived an equal amount of time with each parent, you will select the parent that provides more financial support.
The following people are NOT your parents unless they have legally adopted you: Widowed Stepparent,Grandparents, Foster Parents, Legal Guardians, Older Brothers or Sisters, Aunts or Uncles
3. If you selected, "Never Married" you will need to answer which parent's information will be provided.
4. Click Continue.

3. If you selected, "Unmarried and both legal parents living together," click Continue.
3. If you selected, "Married or Remarried" you will need to provide the month and year that your parents were married.
4. Click Continue.

If you are providing the information for a parent who has remarried, you would provide the date of the remarriage. For example, if you are providing your mother's financial information and she has remarried, you would provide the date of your mother's marriage to your step-father. You will also provide financial information for the step-parent.
3. If you selected, "Divorced or Separated" you will need to provide the month and year that your parents were divorced or separated.
4. You will then need to select which parent's information you will be providing.
5. Click Continue.
