Here is a step-by-step guide to complete a four-year college application (specifically the Common Application), with advice on questions that sometimes confuse students.
Here is a copy of an application, so you can see the most common questions that are asked.
Application Fee Waiver (4-Year College Applications Only)
Applications to 4-year colleges often have application fees. If you are on Free/Reduced Lunch, you can request a fee waiver from your counselor (email your counselor to ask for one). On the Common Application, you can also check the box stating that you need a fee waiver.
SAT/ACT Score Reports
Four-year colleges often will ask for official test score reports. You will need to go to your CollegeBoard account to make this request.
If you took an ACT, you will need to go the ACT website.
High School Transcripts
For every 4-year college application you complete, you will need to request that your high school sends your transcript.
