About Me

Hello there! My name is PJ Denard, and I am a 2022 Summa Cum Laude Graduate of West Liberty University that majored in Digital Media Design and minored in Photography and Visual Communication Design. I am a FAA Part 107 Certified Small Unmanned Aircraft Pilot that flies both line-of-sight and first-person-view drones, as well as a digital photographer and videographer. I currently work as a Creative Services Producer and Visual Observer for Sinclair Broadcast Group at WTOV9, where I conceptualize, film, and produce commercial advertisements for local businesses, operate broadcast cameras and Ross Expressions graphics during High School Sports live productions, and assist drone pilots with mission planning, maintaining situational awareness, and controlling the camera system. 

Artist's Statement

My design work consists of photographs, video productions, and digital illustrations, both conventional and experimental, that incorporate a variety of themes and artistic approaches. I look to the world around me for inspiration, and then document my interests, thoughts, emotions, observations, experiences, and surroundings through an assortment of devices. In all that I create, whether it be videography, flight footage, photography, or graphic designs, I explore visualizations of forms, objects, people, environments, and situations that emphasize the distinct qualities and unique aesthetic of the chosen medium, style, and subjects.
