Know Your Resources

There are several resources available to eCampus faculty to help better support students throughout the term. You should become familiar with each of the following services and their capabilities.

Embedded Tutors

Embedded Tutors are available inside of all eCampus Math and Science courses to help assist students with difficult concepts and problems. Students can post questions to the “Tutor Talk” discussion forum within the live course at any point in the term. The "Tutor Talk" forum provides an area for students to collaborate with both their peers and designated Tutor.

Smarthinking Tutoring

Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that is FREE to all eCampus students. Services are provided for a wide variety of subjects and include live drop-in tutoring sessions, live scheduled tutoring sessions, and a writing center where students can submit their papers/essays for feedback. Most services are available 24/7; however, the live tutoring sessions are dependent upon tutor availability.

Student Engagement and Advancement Data System (SEADS)

SEADS is an online data system used by faculty to report at-risk students who need additional support from the eCampus Student Success Team throughout the term. Each instructor is assigned an eSST member who will act as a second line of support for struggling students. eSST members will attempt to contact students via phone and/or external email to provide guidance and information on resources based on the individual student's needs. Training webinars are conducted each semester on the SEADS system.

Embedded Librarians

Embedded librarians can assist students with finding research resources, formatting papers, and avoiding plagiarism. All students are automatically enrolled in the eCampus Librarian Support and Services course. Within this course, students will have access to all of the librarian resources. We highly suggest you referring your students to the Librarian services if they need help with writing a research paper.

eCore Connection and eMajor Connection

The Connection courses are our student communities. Within these courses, students have the ability to:

  • Test GoVIEW tools,
  • Post questions to the discussion boards,
  • Locate self-help resources, and
  • Interact with other eCore and eMajor students.

The eCampus Student Success & Engagement Team (eSST) monitors student activity within the courses, and responds to all questions and concerns.

As eCampus faculty, you have been given access to the eCore or eMajor Connection course (whichever is appropriate for your contract) and are welcome to review the resources available to all eCampus students. If you have any questions, please email one of your course guides.

You can access the eCore or eMajor Student Connection by entering the course from your GoVIEW Homepage.
