Hello, my name is Victoria Murphy and I have been a teacher here in Westford since August 1994. I am a graduate of Wellesley College and UMASS Lowell and love to learn and teach. Although I studied mathematics and took the first 2 actuarial exams, I knew I was going to be a teacher, when I was about 22 years old. We were cleaning out our house in Stow to sell and I found a box, far in the corner of the attic, filled with papers from elementary school. (I am sure you all have similar boxes somewhere.) The box was filled with fun things I did as I was growing up. But the most interesting thing was a folder from 2nd grade called, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" . Inside were all kinds of papers and activities we had done about different kinds of job, but mostly importantly on the front I had drawn myself as a teacher writing math problems on a chalkboard. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Now I live close by with my husband; two children, Colby and Trinity; and a beautiful golden retriever, Harley Quinn. (She is our THIRD golden retriever) We love to be active with outdoor activities like biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, golfing, and hiking. I also love to craft, sew, garden, read, and bake.
This is definitely a unique year. Even with the pandemic, I hope that you will be as excited as I am to be back with our peers talking and learning together. I am so looking forward to getting to know you and spending the year together!
