Summer Info:
Programs that kids can still access until mid-August for summer practice: Typing Club, iReady (math), MathFactsPro, and Epic (during school hours).
Our Google classroom, filled with lots of great enrichment activities, will be available through much of the summer as well.
At a minimum, students should continue to read all summer. They can also practice their math skills by doing some unused pages in their math journals.

I can't believe that school starts on Wednesday 8/28! I hope you are as excited as I am to start the new school year. Together, we are going to do great things!
Fourth grade is the best grade! This year, we are going to work hard, learn so many new things, and have a whole lot of fun.
Together we will travel through the United States regions, experiment with energy, learn about plants and animals, and dive into volcanoes and earthquakes (not literally!). We will learn lots more about multiplication, division, and fractions. We will also read a lot of great books and learn to enjoy poetry. Do you like to play games? I hope so because we do a lot of games in room 116. :)
Some stuff will be easy and some stuff will seem a little challenging, but that is OK! Together, we will make sure your 4th grade school year is a successful one. All I ask is that you come to school ready to try your best, show respectful behavior, and have fun!

Below is the supply list that was sent home in mid-August. We ask that all students have their materials in school by Monday, September 9. Parents should let Ms. Keefe know if assistance is needed in fulfilling this list.
General Fourth Grade Supply List
3 Glue Sticks
1 Pair Scissors
2 Highlighters (different colors preferable)
2 Erasers
1 Package of 12 Colored Pencils
1 Package of 8 Markers
2 black Sharpies (fine point)
1 Small Pencil Sharpener
12 Pencils
1 Package of Post-It Notes (lined preferable)
2 Dry Erase Markers
Ruler (Standard/Metric markings)
1 Package of Crayons- 16 or more colors
Headphones/Earbuds to leave at school all year
A Large Zippered Pencil Case (big enough to hold most of these items)

Our classroom would also really appreciate paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, and baby wipe donations!

Communication
First, please fill out & return the parent communication form that comes home during the first week of school. This information is just for Ms. Keefe related to your child, specifically. If you can please return it before curriculum night in mid-September, that would be great. Thanks!
Next, please bookmark this website. I will keep it updated regularly with our newsletters, and will be posting pictures of our students and classwork here as well. There's lots of information about our various curricular areas too. The kids will use Google Classroom regularly, and I will send you an invite to join it, but that will not be the primary place for information for parents.
Finally, it is best to reach me via email at nkeefe@westfordk12.us for any questions or concerns re: your child or things going on at school. However, if you have a change of dismissal plan and it's after noontime, please call the school office to make them aware. They will make sure that both myself & your child know of the change of plans.
