Hi Everyone! Though BMS doors are closed for the time being, please know that your student’s School Counselor is available to support your child and your family. Three weeks is a long time to be away from our daily routines. Remember any change, positive or negative, can result in stress. Although these emotions are normal, they can be overwhelming. So during moments of change, it’s important to remember our stress relievers and access them regularly. Some positive coping strategies to try include: visualize yourself at your favorite place, exercise at home, spend some time daily outside, go for a walk, face-time with friends, pick up a hobby that you don’t usually have time for, dive into a good book, be creative/artistic, talk with a trusted adult, or watch the sunset/sunrise.

As a Counseling Department, we’ve compiled a list of helpful resources to guide conversations at home, cope with stress, and process feelings related to COVID-19. We will continue to update our website with new resources on our Resource Center: COVID-19 webpage.

During this time, each grade level School Counselor will be using their SEAL Google Classroom, as well as this website, to help us stay connected and check-in periodically. Did you know that you can email teachers through your Gmail account? Please don’t hesitate to reach out :)

Take care,
