About me

Hola! I am very passionate about learning and teaching. I am a first generation American. Both my parents were born and raised in Galicia, Spain. They immigrated to the US after they were married where they raised my brother and me. As a family we traveled back to Spain every summer where I spent two months. My love for Spanish language and culture began as a child. Today, I continue to share my enthusiasm for Spanish culture with my daughters and students as well. My husband, also from Galicia, Spain and I teach our daughters all about Spain and its culture.

I decided to become a Spanish teacher after spending a summer teaching Spanish at a local YMCA. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Communication, I then earned a Master of Education degree from Rutgers University. I have been teaching middle-schoolers since 2005 and a member of FLENJ (Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey).

I plan to teach for a very long time. I love meeting new students and running into former ones. Most of all I love learning from them as well.
