Bonjour et Bienvenue! My name is Madame Young and I am thrilled that you will joining me in French class this year. My love of the French language and Francophone cultures was sparked by my beloved high school teacher, who encouraged me to follow in his steps to Penn State . There, I studied with some of the best language professors in the country and I spent a wonderful semester abroad in the beautiful city of Strasbourg, France. Since 1999 I have been teaching French to almost every grade level from Kindergarten to Adults. My students can always expect a plethora of fun, engaging activities to practice their language skills. Please make sure to check our Google Classroom page for all assignments. Virtual resources for include Quizlet, while 7th grade will also use Duolingo.com. You can contact me at kyoung@westfieldnjk12.org with any questions or concerns.
Valuable class resources
Class supplies
Students will need a 1 inch binder (preferably in red, white, or blue) with loose leaf paper , or a section of a binder dedicated to French. Pencils, a charged Chromebook, headphones and a ziploc bag are also required. Students may also bring in their own art supplies, although they are welcome to borrow mine.
Classroom rules
In addition to all Edison Intermediate school rules and regulations, students in my classroom are reminded of our classroom rules: 1) Soyez gentils! - Be kind and 2) Parlez français! - Speak French, to the best of their ability.
MERCI BEAUCOUP!!!!
