It's going to be a GREAT year!
Welcome to 8th grade science and science applications! My name is Mrs. Berger. I hope you enjoyed your summer break! I look forward to a very productive and fun school year. For us to have a successful year in science, I ask that you come to class ready to ask questions, discover, and think critically!
This is my 13th year teaching 8th grade students. Prior to Westfield, I taught in the Branchburg school district. I received my undergrad degree in Elementary Education K-5, 5-8 with a specialization in Earth Science at Kean University. I obtained my Master's degrees from Rutgers University in Physics Education.
I hope to give my students a love for science. My primary method of teaching includes a student centered classroom and discovery- based learning. Students participate in hands- on and minds- on activities. In this course, both Math and writing skills will be incorporated in the science curriculum. I encourage my students to think about science and its importance to the world. My hope is that students gain the confidence to solve problems in everyday situations. My student’s success is my success.
When I'm not teaching Science, I enjoy baking, cooking, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.
