Course Description: This required course is organized around the theme of identity. You will engage in an in-depth analysis of United States history encompassing the early national period through the early 20th century. You will be challenged to consider how the nation developed its identity and continues to redefine itself over time, both domestically and in the international arena. There is an emphasis on direct student engagement in the learning process and it is the intention of this course to help you refine your individual thinking process and develop the participation skills for active involvement in the nation and the world.
