Here at Eagle Academy, we are a self-paced school but what does mean?
If you are skillful at English, you can move faster. If you struggle in math, you can take the time to actually learn and master new skills without judgment, or fear of being left behind. However, often, students see "pacing" as an excuse to not do anything. Do not fall into this trap. Pacing is about you learning at your optimal pace-- it does not mean-- not doing anything until you are "motivated" or feel like it.
You have 46 credits needed to graduate from Eagle Academy! You will receive credits when you complete a portfolio for your subject area.
An example we will use is English. Let's say you are in Portfolio 1 for English. When you fill up the portfolio to the level it can flip, you will earn your 2 English credits for your freshman year. Those are put into PowerSchool by the counselor!
You have so many tools in Slate to help you understand your progress!
MY PLP: In Slate this shows you ALL your competency sets (English, Social Studies etc.), which portfolio you are in, and your overall ratings. This is where you will have mentor comments, too!
Competency Dashboard: Want to see ratings for a subject area? Check this dashboard out!
Task Dashboard: If you are in a studio, check to see what tasks are complete, and needed to be done!
