We do number talks each day. This helps us to see that Mathematics is all around us. The purpose of the number talk discussion is for students to share and justify their answers. Students will often times identify and correct mistakes on their own during the discussion and learn that mistakes are okay, they help us learn.

This year we are continuing our journey on DMIC, a method of teaching which encourages group problem solving in culturally centered contexts and is improving engagement and outcomes in mathematics learning.
