Did you know Thailand is still ruled by a King. Although there has been tension between the Government and the military recently, Thailand is still ruled by a king. The most famous King was Bhumibol Adulyadej. He Died in 2017 and the whole country went into mourning for a month. No one was allowed to wear anything other than black and there was a curfew in place. King Bhumibol was the longest raining monarch in Thailand and was crowned on the 9th of June 1946 and ruled the country for 70 years before his death. He was the peoples king and was well respected amongst all Thai citizens.
The Capitol of Thailand is Bangkok which is near the centre of Thailand. It is a big bustling city. Home to the Royal palace and the economic heart of Thailand.
Nearby Nonthaburi (sort of like Silverdale to Auckland City) is a bustling suburbia surrounded by rural waterways and open farms.
