Courage has certainly been on display this week at Welton Primary School. It has been lovely seeing so many children celebrated for their Magic Moments. Whether it was for dance, fantastic work completed in class, or the extra-curricular activities they pursue in their own time, it is wonderful to see our children shining bright in everything they do.
Alongside this, it has been a real joy dropping into classrooms and seeing the excellent learning that is going on. I have been particularly impressed with many children who are putting in their very best effort with their presentation and attitude to learning. This was topped off with a fantastic clarinet performance from our Year 6 children—it very nearly got me in the festive spirit!
The school has been truly abuzz today, thanks to our PTFA lighting up the school with their festive cheer and the wonderful Elfridges event. The children are incredibly lucky to be supported by our wonderful families.
We would love to see you next week for our School Christmas Fayre between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM. The more the merrier, so please bring family and friends along; we would love to meet them!
Alongside this, please ensure that you have downloaded and logged in to the ARBOR App. We know that changing systems can be frustrating, but these changes are happening MAT-wide, and we need everyone on board quickly.
As of Monday, we will no longer be using Teachers2Parents.
It won't be long until ParentPay is phased out, and Schoolgrid will become our new payment system (all managed via the ARBOR App). Please make no further purchases through ParentPay after the 18th December.
If you have any issues with this, please contact the school office. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any changes to these new MAT-wide systems, but we can help guide you through the login process.
On a lunchtime note, please ensure that children do not bring nuts into school - this includes Nutella. Also, please ensure grapes, olives etc. are cut.
Finally, we look forward to seeing you on Thursday for our first Bath Parent and Carers Forum in the second hall between 9:00 and 10:00.
Have a lovely weekend, and thank you for your continued support.
:)
We're delighted to have been awarded a Gold Award for our commitment to helping our children learn about future careers. The judges were particularly impressed with the career days at Welton where volunteers from the world of work come and talk about their jobs. They also loved the fact that parents come and talk about their jobs too! The judges commented: Your recent submission has earned your school a Gold Award; the highest level of achievement in the Primary Futures Recognition Scheme. This award reflects the passion and commitment your school has shown in inspiring pupils to think big about their futures. Thank you for your exceptional commitment to inspiring the next generation – you are helping to shape brighter and wonderful futures. Well done Team Welton! 👏👏👏
We are delighted to share some exciting news about a major opportunity to strengthen our commitment to inclusivity and support for all our children.
Welton Primary School has been selected as one of just nine primary schools in B&NES for the second round of the national Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) programme. This is a huge honour and a powerful chance for our community to make a lasting difference.
What is the PINS Programme?
The PINS project is a national initiative funded by the government to help ensure all our neurodivergent children are fully included in all aspects of school life and truly belong in their communities. It aims to embed specialist health and education support directly into the school environment.
The PINS programme is built on the belief that parent carers are key partners, and working together is always best for our children. Collaboration with parents and carers is critical to the success of this programme. Our goal is to:
Build and strengthen your relationship with the school.
Build confidence in the local ways of working.
Ensure you are confident in the support you can expect for your child.
As key partners in the delivery of PINS, there will be parent carer representation at all levels of the project. This is a wonderful chance for Welton parents to show the area what works and how powerful it is when we all come together.
Join Our First Bath Parent and Carers Forum
For this important initiative, we will be hosting our first Bath Parent and Carers Forum on Thursday, 4th December, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM in the second hall. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
We look forward to embarking on this journey with you. I hope this is helpful, and I look forward to seeing you on the 4th.
1 Week to go until our Christmas Fayre. Please ensure that you bring any raffle tickets, with money attached, back to the school office. Without the money, we will be unable to put the tickets into the draw for the fabulous prizes.
Also, if you have any cuddle toys you no longer need, please bring them in. The children love the Teddy tombola and we need your support to make this happen.
If you are able to help on the night, please let your class teacher know or add it to classlist.
We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Thanks for your continued support :)
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTFA for providing our children with a FABULOUS day today. The children had a wonderful time visiting the grotto and being able to select their own gifts for families and friends.
The PTFA do a wonderful job and we are so grateful for all they do. From trips to bigger opportunities for your children, the fundraising they do is invaluable in helping us to function. We couldn't do what we do without their help and your support in these events. We cannot wait for next week's Fayre.
As always, if you would like to help or want to join the PTFA, please speak to one of the members or contact them through classlist.
On Sunday, Will (Y6), Emma (Y5) and Rory (Y4) took to the stage at Milfield school and participated in this year's annual biathlon. During the event, they had to complete a swim and 800m run against athletes from other schools across the local area. We were so impressed with their resilience, attitude to competing and perseverance. They did them, us as a school and their families proud as they competed and we know it won't be the last time some of them take to the stage as the years move forward. Well done to all you stars!

We are delighted to share that our Year 6 students successfully completed their Bikeability Level 2 cycle training. This crucial course moves pupils from the playground onto quieter local roads, equipping them with the essential skills for safe and independent cycling.
The instructors were highly impressed by their focus and maturity as they learned how to:
Perform safety checks on their bikes.
Master road positioning to ensure visibility.
Signal effectively and manage basic road junctions.
Negotiate traffic responsibly.
Well done to all of the Y6 children who took part. We can't wait to see you put what you have learned into practise.
We had an absolutely brilliant time during the recent Year 6 Parents' PE session! Thank you so much to all the parents who came and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the various fitness and team challenges. You were definitely put through your paces, and the sight of parents and children collaborating and encouraging each other was fantastic!
A special thank you to Mr. Kingwell for, as always, crafting brilliant sessions. We loved the hidden messages behind the activities. While the challenges tested everyone's physical ability, the real focus was on demonstrating and developing core life skills. The level of resilience and genuine collaboration we witnessed across the board was truly inspiring to see.
It was a powerful reminder that PE isn't just about physical fitness—it's about problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and perseverance. Thank you again to the Year 6 parents for making it such a memorable and energetic event!
We can't wait to welcome our Year 1 and Year 2 parents next week for their turn! Get ready to move!
Following on from the success of a group of Welton children who presented at Bath Spa University in September to talk with trainee teachers about the importance of learning about climate change, a small group of children this week got the opportunity to be filmed presenting a script for the environmental organisation Earth Minutes. Amelia and Andre who visited our school were so impressed with the children's confidence and courage as they had to speak to camera using an amazing autocue just like on the news! We're looking forward to seeing the finished film which should be released in the new year.
What a magnificent performance we were treated to yesterday! Our talented Year 6 clarinet players took centre stage and absolutely shone, treating us to a mini-concert of three delightful songs. They wrapped up their performance with a beautiful, early festive treat: Jingle Bells!
We are so incredibly proud of every single student for their courage and fantastic effort. They truly embraced the challenge and wowed the audience with their harmonious playing!
A massive thank you to the wonderful Meg from WEMA for her inspiring tuition, and our deepest gratitude to the amazing PTFA for generously helping to fund these enriching Key Stage 2 music lessons!
Well done to our Stars of the Week for showing courage this week!
Thank you for all of your support helping to fundraise for this brilliant cause.
Take a look at our class pages below! We will be updating these on the school website in the coming weeks!
This spring Stagecoach Midsomer Norton will be performing the incredible Matilda the Musical.
We're so excited that our talented students will get to step into the world of Roald Dahl's beloved story. This show is all about bravery, creativity, and standing up for what's right. If you know a child who might like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Enrolments for our next term are now OPEN.
Classes run every Saturday morning at Welton Primary School starting on the 10th of Jan. The performance will be on the 22nd April at the Dragonfly Theatre. Visit our website or give Principal Charlie a call on 07435050703 to see if there are spaces for your child's age group and book a 2-week trial today!
Thank you 🙂
