332 Analysis ACP

 Gr 11 | 6 Credits | Year-Long | 5x per Cycle

 *Prerequisite: Algebra 2

This course focuses on problem solving and critical thinking from a variety of mathematical and practical perspectives. Students will be required to explain their thinking and solutions (verbal and written) within the context of a problem.  Topics may include but are not limited to installment loans, estimation, quantitative reasoning, sequences and series, algebraic applications and logical reasoning. Graphing calculators and/or spreadsheets will be used as tools throughout the course. Students will be assessed with and without these tools.  

Essential Skills:

• Apply critical thinking skills to solve problems.

• Simplify, solve and evaluate numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.

• Create and interpret mathematical representations using correct notation.

• Draw valid conclusions and justify reasoning and solutions.
