310 Foundations in Mathematics 11/12 CP

   Gr 11 | 6 Credits | Year-Long | 5x per Cycle

 *Eligible by Recommendation Only*. Not being offered in 2024-2025.

This course is designed to develop student understanding of core algebra and personal finance concepts. Topics explored include linear, quadratic and exponential functions as well as an introduction to personal finance planning. Students will study budgeting including checking accounts, credit cards and savings accounts. Students will continue to review numeracy and basic mathematical skills and applying them to new situations. Enrollment is by teacher recommendation.

Essential Skills:

• Simplify, solve and evaluate numerical and algebraic expressions and equations

• Interpret geometric representations using correct notation and vocabulary

• Interpret and create graphical representations using correct mathematical notation
