This advanced college preparatory program is designed for students with above average achievement and interest in reading and composition. Students should expect considerable outside reading and written homework. Representative examples of the literature include Romeo and Juliet, Night, The Kite Runner, The House on Mango Street, A Raisin in the Sun, Lord of the Flies, and Long Way Down. Although the quantity of reading assigned varies with the difficulty of the work, typical reading is 20-25 pages per night.

Students will be able to begin writing multi- paragraph analytical papers with intro/conclusion
